Shimano SPD-SLR Road Cleats Description:

The Shimano SPD-SLR Road Cleats are compatible with Shimano SPD-SLR road pedals, and are available with multiple float options, all working within within the SPD-SLR pedal and shoe eco-system to deliver a complete system that connects riders to their bike while improving stability, efficiency, and confidence. Its lower-profile design creates a stable, seamless connection with SPD-SLR pedals while improving walkability and pedal entry.

Features:

  • Compatible with SPD-SLR road pedals
  • SPD-SLR pedal interface reduces stack height, closing the gap between foot and pedal axle by 2.3mm
  • Immediate engagement is accomplished by a redesigned 10.5° angle of engagement
  • Cleat design reduces weight over SPD-SL predecessors by 25%
  • Grey, CL-SL130 cleats extend compatibility to non-Shimano shoes and older Shimano shoe models
  • Includes two cleats along with mounting hardware

How To Choose SPD-SLR Cleats:

  • Yellow – 6° Float
    • If this is your first pair of cleats, we recommend the 6° float cleat
    • 6° float cleats are also great for athletes who experience knee pain or lack flexibility
    • The 6° float cleat allows for more lateral movement which makes it easier to pedal in a natural manner
    • While this cleat is recommended as a starting point for new cyclists, many experienced cyclists still opt to use the yellow cleat
  • Blue – 2° Float
    • A compromise between yellow and red
    • Provides a small range of movement while still delivering a high amount of pedaling efficiency
    • Still requires an optimal cleat position
  • Red – 0° Float
    • Great for sprinters, professional cyclists, and anyone looking for the most efficient power transfer possible
    • Fully fixed position with no float
    • Requires precise cleat position and fitting. We recommend seeing a professional bike fitter to help dial-in your position with these cleats
    • Not a good choice for riders who are prone to knee pain
  • Grey – 6° Float
    • Offers 6° (three degrees in each direction), enabling free movement while retaining a solid rider connection
    • Provides classic SPD-SL fore-aft positioning for non-Shimano shoes and legacy road models
    • The 6° float cleat allows for more lateral movement, which makes it easier to pedal in a natural manner
    • While this cleat is recommended as a starting point for new cyclists, many experienced cyclists still opt to use the yellow cleat

Pro Tip: Apply a little bit of threadlocker to each of the bolts to prevent cleats from coming loose.
